Description

Background: Anesthesia professionals are experts in handling high-risk medications, equipment, and conducting patient assessments. Neuromuscular blocking medications are commonly used in general anesthesia. This research project presents current evidence of neuromuscular blockade, reversal medications, effectiveness of medication classes, cost, and incidence of postoperative complications (PPCs). This study was guided by the American Society of Anesthesiologists' (ASA) definition of a difficult airway and potential PPCs associated with residual neuromuscular blockade (rNMB).1
