Description
Introduction/Background: The inaccurate assessment of neuromuscular blockade (NMB) status by anesthesia providers places patients at risk for postoperative residual neuromuscular blockade (RNMB), with an incidence of up to 60% in the absence or inadequate use of neuromuscular monitoring (NMM).1 Inadequate neuromuscular blockade assessment and the associated potential residual neuromuscular blockade represent relevant disparities in anesthesia practice. Studies suggest the relative superiority of quantitative neuromuscular monitoring compared to qualitative or no neuromuscular monitoring. This project aims to provide an educational endeavor for a quantitative neuromuscular monitoring device to address provider inexperience.
