Description

The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to evaluate how frontline employee feedback impacted the alignment and effectiveness of executive decisions in the retail sector. The study was significant for extending the Dynamic Capabilities View and addressing the common problem of misalignment in executive decision-making, offering practical insights for improving strategic coherence and resource allocation. The sample included 170 retail companies from the Drucker Institute’s 2021 rankings. Data was drawn from publicly available sources on customer satisfaction and employee engagement, with executive decision-making feedback integration serving as the independent variable. Data collection relied on existing survey measures, and linear regression was used to analyze relationships between variables. Results revealed a significant positive relationship between feedback integration and customer satisfaction, and an even stronger positive relationship with employee engagement. Conclusions indicated that integrating frontline employee feedback enhanced satisfaction, engagement, and overall organizational performance, fostering innovation and competitive advantage. Future research should examine causal mechanisms, explore qualitative dimensions of feedback, extend the study to additional industries, and employ longitudinal designs to assess long-term outcomes of consistent feedback integration.
