Description

This qualitative case study aims to investigate how leadership coaching and development strategies enhance leadership effectiveness, reduce burnout, and improve staff retention among social service professionals at GA Family Services (GFS). We define leadership effectiveness as the ability to influence, motivate, and support staff while fostering employee well-being and maintaining service quality. The study utilizes Transformational Leadership and Authentic Leadership theories to examine how leaders inspire trust and empower employees to manage high caseloads. We will conduct a single-site case study within GA Family Services, a county based child welfare agency focused on intake, assessment, and family reunification services. Our primary research question is: How can leadership coaching interventions enhance leadership effectiveness and diminish workforce burnout in social service organizations? We will also explore how coaching promotes organizational resilience and improves family assessment outcomes. Data will be collected from supervisors, administrators, and frontline staff through semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and document analysis. We will ensure informed consent, confidentiality, and data triangulation to enhance validity. Thematic coding will guide our analysis to identify patterns and draw meaningful conclusions. We expect the findings to provide valuable insights for improving leadership capacity in social service agencies, thereby enhancing workforce stability and service quality.
